Bealtaine

Bealtine origins in pre-Christian Celtic mythology.

„Bel“, a Celtic deity or goddess translates in its Celtic name as „fire of Bel“ marking the beginning of summer season and the return of the light in the northern hemisphere. People would gather around fire to purify themselves ensuring fertility for the upcoming year, and to bring good luck to their crops and livestock. Festivities often begin on the evening of April 30th, also known as May Eve through to May 5th.

My personal interpretation to honor this season roots in works surrounding botany, insects and birds channeling prosperity, beauty, diversity and re-birth.
